Crayone is considered to be a Bay Area Graffiti Art Pioneer. He has been filmed and published many times, but his seminal exposure was a book called "Spray Can Art", "Freight Train Graffiti", "Graffito" and in a recent video documentary called "Piece By Piece". To his peers he is known as a person who brought the use of intricate colors and skillful technique to his graffiti pieces. Founder of the legendary crew called TWS (Together With Style – 1st Bay Area Crew) he has brought world wide recognition and was known as the crew who invented "New Wave". New Wave was an attempt at coining certain individuals who were trying to take graffiti to the next level of technique, color and style. Crayone's acomplishments include, the first graffiti writer to do a graffiti gallery show on the west coast, spray painting the first ever southern pacific whole car freight train and also the first to do a graffiti piece on the side of the San Francisco Muni Bus.
In 1990, Crayone went to a fine art school and later to a graphic design school. In 1995, He created www.hip-hop.com and won awards and was noted as one of the few graffiti writers to bring graffiti design into the web. He followed up with www.hiphop-network.com. After a few years, he started www.crayone.com to get more work as far as murals, gallery shows and some design work. He currently works in Walnut Creek for one of the largest newspapers in the country called BANG (Bay Area News Group) as an art director. He currently lives in SF and in Oakland.
